Comprehensive secondary education is a cornerstone of our institution, catering to approximately 330 students - with a notable presence of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students constituting about 30% of the student body.
Narrandera High School prides itself on fostering academic achievement, sporting success, and cultural excellence. Our inclusive environment enables students to thrive through various specialised programs and support services, including an Intervention Centre, Clontarf Academy, Stars Foundation, and Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre (ALEC).
We operate multi-categorical classrooms, which are set to expand with additional staffing and a Head Teacher position in the near future. Embracing Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), we promote restorative practices that enhance positive relationships across the school community.
The value-added progress from Year 9 to Year 12 demonstrated through our HSC results showcases the school's commitment to providing a supportive learning environment. Over half of our Year 12 graduates receive offers to study diverse courses at various universities.
To ensure effective classroom practices, staff undergo ongoing professional learning and collaboration, engaging with local school networks to drive improvement. We prioritise enhancing literacy and numeracy skills through explicit teaching methods, robust data analysis, and application.
We aim to build strong partnerships with students and parents, supporting high educational aspirations and ongoing growth. Key selection criteria include proven communication, organisational, and management capabilities, as well as the ability to strengthen a dynamic approach to student wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour management.
