About us:
We are a locally owned Accounting & Financial Planning Firm servicing a diverse client base throughout Queensland and nationally, with our offices located in Townsville and Ayr. We have a dynamic workforce of approximately 50 employees, supported by a range of flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Our standard operating hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am to 2:00 pm on Fridays, promoting a healthy work–life balance and contributing to strong engagement and productivity across the organisation.
We provide a complete range of accounting, financial planning, and taxation services to individuals, small to medium businesses and self-managed superannuation funds.
Role Responsibilities:
· Lead day‐to‐day accounting operations, ensuring high technical accuracy and strong tax knowledge.
* Review financial statements, tax returns, oversee workflow, and maintain quality through ensuring the professional development of yourself and your team.
* Manage invoicing, WIP, billing, productivity and recoverability across the team.
* Build strong client relationships, understand their financial goals and identify growth opportunities.
* Plan, allocate and review teamwork while supporting performance, development and training.
* Provide coaching, technical guidance and regular structured feedback to direct reports.
* Collaborate with Directors and Management on recruitment, performance, IT and broader business initiatives.
* Communicate effectively across all levels and actively contribute to meetings and firm culture.
* Model ML Partners' values — build relationships, be proactive, be dependable — and foster a positive, ethical team environment.
* Complete tasks and projects within deadlines, ensuring compliance and revenue targets are met.
