Your New Role

Classroom and learning support (CLS) is a dedicated service that provides a range of resources and assistance to students with disabilities and additional learning needs. It aims to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential. CLS staff work closely with classroom teachers to identify and address students' needs, providing tailored support and strategies. This may include direct instruction, small group work, assistive technology, and behavior management techniques. CLS also offers professional development to teachers, helping them implement effective inclusive practices.

The Position

Permanent Position with Additional Temporary Hours for 2026 to commence as soon as possible.

Essential Criteria

Support the Catholic Ethos of the schoolPrepare resources to assist the students with additional needs to learn in an age-appropriate and educational manner.Has an understanding of general educational processes and methods and health and safety requirements.Demonstrates the proven capacity to work with children with high and/or additional needs.Ability to work as a member of a professional team, by interacting thoughtfully, positively and conscientiously with staff and students.Highly developed communication skillsProven capacity to work independently as requiredProvides appropriate pastoral care and models respect, empathy, and positive relationshipsMaintains confidentiality and follows all school policies, child protection, and WHS requirementsDemonstrates reliability, flexibility, initiative, and a professional attitudeAccreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve.Successful candidate to undergo a National Criminal History CheckNSW Working with Children Check
