Research Scientist Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to conduct cutting-edge research in microbiology, geomicrobiology, and genomics within the Earth Sciences curriculum.
The successful candidate will collaborate with senior researchers and students on organic geochemical, paleontological, and energy-related research projects, focusing on sediments and lakes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct innovative research in geomicrobiology and bioinformatics.
* Publish high-quality international peer-reviewed articles in their area of research.
* Teach graduate and undergraduate students in the Earth Sciences curriculum.
* Develop collaborative projects with industry, academia, and government organizations.
* Contribute to leadership roles within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
* Engage in community outreach and science communication.
Required Qualifications:
* Doctoral qualification in microbiology/geobiology and sedimentary inorganic geochemistry.
* Demonstrated record of PhD and undergraduate scholar supervision.
* An established record of research outputs in international peer-reviewed journals.
* A proven track record of grant success relative to opportunity.
* A demonstrated ability to attract industry funding.
