About Colac Area Health
Colac Area Health is a significant regional health service in Victoria, providing comprehensive care across the lifespan. Our services cover a broad spectrum from primary care to aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency, and acute care.
We serve over 30,000 people through the efforts of more than 1,500 staff and volunteers across multiple sites. Our commitment is to developing a culture that promotes education, training, and research advancing health and wellbeing for all.
Our Sites
Our major sites include the Colac Regional Hospital, and various community health and residential aged care facilities across the region.
Volunteer Programs
Volunteers play a vital role at Colac Area Health, enhancing the healthcare experience of our consumers and their families through direct social, emotional, and recreational support. Volunteers offer genuine support and are valued members of our team.
We have volunteer opportunities in various settings, including roles in hospitals, community health, and residential aged care facilities. Volunteers can help with tasks such as companionship, gardening, art, craft, and language activities.
We provide a comprehensive volunteer training program and induction. On-boarding requirements and training modules are relevant to the role you wish to pursue, and our Volunteer Coordinators are available to guide you through each step of the process.
We ask that volunteers commit to joining a program for a minimum period of six months, and most roles involve a weekly shift of four to six hours.
Inclusion and Diversity
We value diversity and inclusion, celebrating unique backgrounds, perspectives, and talents of our team members. We foster an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
We are committed to providing positive employment opportunities and a workplace that promotes wellbeing, welcoming and encouraging applications from those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, individuals with disabilities, and diverse backgrounds and identities.
Safety and Wellbeing
We prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people, adhering to the Victorian Government's Child Safe Standards.
Prior to commencement, new employees must provide a completed Barwon Health Immunity Status form and obtain Staff Care clearance.
