Working at Social Futures is about more than just having a job. We have been working with communities across regional Australia for over 50 years, supporting positive change and stronger communities.
Job Description
This position requires a strong connection and lived experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and the ability to work in a respectful and self-determined way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals and families.
In this role, you will:
* support people and families to build on their strengths and make their own choices
* gain experience working in the NDIS / NDIA, a nationally recognised program
* work for an organisation that is trusted, well known and part of your local community
* help make sure the voices and lived experiences of people with disability are heard
* support inclusion and understanding within the community
You will be joining a supportive team of people who care about making a difference. The work is varied and meaningful, and may include meeting people in the community, attending local events, and providing one-on-one support.
If you are interested in a career in the disability and community sector, this role can open doors to other roles and help you build skills for the future. You will need to be willing to travel sometimes as part of the role. This role will help you gain experience in a busy program that is always changing, learn more about your community and become confident in linking people to supports, and build new skills through meaningful work with people with disability.
You will work in a team that respects differences. We value your life experience, community knowledge and cultural understanding, and we will support you to learn and grow in the role.
At Social Futures, we believe in the value of your voice and we are dedicated to making positive changes every day. We've got your back in providing a supportive and inclusive workplace, one that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion. Here, your wellbeing matters to us.
Among the benefits, we offer flexible working options, access to ongoing learning and development, generous salary packaging options, a staff well-being program, and the opportunity to bank additional days leave per year. Additionally, we prioritise safety and uphold that Social Futures isn't just a workplace; it's a community.
Here, we believe in inclusivity, integrity, and learning. Why you'll like working with us:
* Your voice will be valued and heard as we strive to support positive social change
* You'll be part of a supportive, diverse, and inclusive environment where we celebrate individuality. You will be invited to join "Our Mob" – a team of First Nations employees who meet regularly to stay connected and share knowledge and experiences
* We prioritise your wellbeing, with benefits such as access to online wellbeing platform, flexible working options, and Fitness Passport membership
* Cultural leave - up to 10 working days (pro-rata) unpaid leave to support with traditional law, custom, cultural and family obligations or to participate in ceremonial and spiritual activities
* NAIDOC Leave – 1 working days (pro-rata) paid leave during your communities NAIDOC week celebration
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference and is willing to learn. You do not need to know everything already. We will support you to build your skills. You may be a good fit if you enjoy helping people, have strong computer and administration skills, ability to interpret complicated written instruction, can juggle a variety of tasks and priorities, and work well in a busy environment.
This position is a full time fixed term contract until 30 June 2027.
