* Hobart (Eastern Shore) based position
* Full time OR Part time
* Versatile nursing and reception role in an independent, small animal practice
* A professional, hard working and positive team member is key
Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital is a proudly family-owned, independent small animal practice, growing thanks to the continued trust and support of our wonderful clients. We have recently completed an exciting expansion and renovation, creating a modern, purpose-built space designed to support exceptional patient care and a positive team environment.
As we move into this next chapter, we are looking for a caring and versatile Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit team. This is a varied role combining both nursing and reception duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships with clients while also delivering high-quality patient care behind the scenes.
We are seeking someone who is professional, hard-working, positive and kind — someone who values teamwork and wants to contribute to a supportive and respectful workplace culture.
The position is ideally full-time; however, we are committed to flexibility and will happily consider part-time arrangements for the right person. Our nurses work on a Monday to Saturday roster, with shifts scheduled across our opening hours. We also warmly welcome applicants with a strong reception background who are interested in training and developing as a Veterinary Nurse.
The role includes (but is not limited to):
* Providing friendly, compassionate and professional client service as part of a shared rotational reception role
* Demonstrating safe, confident and gentle animal handling
* Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
* Maintaining a clean, organised and sterile clinical environment
* Delivering attentive and compassionate inpatient care
* Contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa permitting long-term work in Australia.
Preference will be given to candidates who:
* Hold or are currently studying Certificate III or IV in Veterinary Nursing
* Have recent experience in a veterinary hospital or practice
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
* Are confident in animal handling
* Have an understanding of common veterinary procedures
* Are committed to learning, growth and continuous improvement
* Value teamwork and contribute positively to workplace culture
