About the role
JCI Engineering is seeking experienced Shutdown Fitters, Boilermakers and Riggers to join our team on a casual or ABN basis. The role involves working across mine site shutdowns in the Central West region, delivering mechanical, fabrication and rigging support to critical assets.
You will be engaged on short-duration, and at times high-intensity shutdown scopes, working alongside experienced trades to complete works safely, efficiently and to specification within tight timeframes.
What you'll be doing
* Fitters: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repairs and installations during scheduled mine site shutdowns
* Boilermakers: Performing welding, fabrication and associated quality work to industry and site standards
* Riggers: Carrying out rigging and lifting activities during shutdowns, including assessment for safe movement, coordination with crane crews, and installation and removal of equipment in accordance with site procedures
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving equipment and plant issues as they arise
* Adhering to all health, safety and environmental requirements
* Working collaboratively within shutdown teams to complete tasks on time and to the required quality
* Willingness to work dynamically and assist other trades as required to deliver shutdown scopes on time
What we're looking for
* Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter/Machinist, HD Fitter, Boilermaker, or Rigger
(Riggers must hold a minimum Intermediate Rigging (RI) ticket)
* Previous shutdown and/or mining experience in heavy industrial environments
* Valid Police Check (or ability to obtain prior to mobilisation)
* Safety-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
* Positive attitude and the ability to work and communicate effectively within dynamic, adaptive shutdown teams
* Ability to perform under pressure and meet shutdown deadlines when required
* Pride in workmanship and the presentation of completed jobs
* Current driver's licence and reliable transportation
* Minimum of 2 references
What we offer
* Competitive shutdown-based rates
* ABN: $70–$75/hr (dependent on site and shutdown scope)
* Casual: $60–$65/hr (dependent on site and shutdown scope)
