A versatile and accomplished media professional to join our team in Newcastle, covering a wide geographic area, with a diverse range of responsibilities including reporting, producing, and sport reading.
Main Responsibilities:
* Identify and respond to breaking news, monitor local news and community social groups, and suggest well-informed story ideas.
* Produce multiple packages, voiceovers, and live reads daily, collaborating with producers to script and edit stories across various media platforms (including TV, radio, and social media).
* Conduct engaging interviews (both in-person and live) and develop a strong network of local contacts and regional stakeholders.
* Maintain a strong understanding of local news, sport, and key events. Coordinate effectively with the Newcastle Team and work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure seamless newsgathering.
* Demonstrate the ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain journalistic integrity while working under significant pressure.
