QIC currently has a max term, part-time opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Operations and Legal Support team in Brisbane. Working with a team of experienced and dedicated Paralegals, our wider Legal, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance (LRAC) team is an integral part of our function as an organisation and is responsible for critical aspects of our day-to-day operations.
The incoming Paralegal will be exposed to the breadth of the business, not only working on support and administrative requirements, but projects and processes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a second or third year student to join a team of dedicated Legal professionals and contribute to enterprise wide initiatives.
Role accountabilities also include (but are not limited to):

- Prepare, review, amend and format non-disclosure agreements, consultancy agreements and various contracts (Legal Documents) as required, including generating first drafts from existing templates
- Maintenance of web-based document and data management systems
- Co-ordination of internal signatures process for Legal Documents
- Respond to queries from trading counterparties including compiling information from various sources into an easy-to-understand response
- Manage audit and reconciliation processes such as reconciling physical copies of documents against electronic records (including audit and reconciliation requests from outside the LRAC team or outside of QIC)
- Manage photocopying, binding, scanning and distribution of Legal Documents
- Manage the storage of original Legal Documents in safe custody including updating the safe custody register
- Manage the postage and receipt of execution copies of Legal Documents
- Manage and maintain a filing system for the QIC LRAC team
- Manage and maintain archiving requirements of Legal Documents
- Respond to appropriate document search requirements arising from some other (selected) team's fulfillment of processes that require information stored in repositories managed by LRAC
- Amend and format PowerPoint documents and flowcharts for presentations by the LRAC team
- Assist with KYC requests
- Legal research and other administrative support, as required by LRAC Team

Key requirements and experience:

- Previous experience in a similar role in a finance, legal or professional services environment.
- Ability to manage multiple matters at varying stages of lifecycle.
- Proactive team player who takes ownership of their accountabilities and is confident to progress matters without constant oversight.
- Ability to identify opportunities for streamlining team processes, increasing efficiencies, and implementing appropriate changes.
