We have an incredible opportunity for a Trainee Theatre and Audio-Visual Technician to join our team
What You Will Do:
As a Trainee Theatre and Audio Visual Technician, you will provide technical support to the Creative Life technical teams, ensuring the smooth operation of live productions while building your technical skills and customer service. This role focuses on facilitating effective communication and improving basic technical knowledge across sound, lighting and mechanist skills. You will also ensure the highest standards of workplace health and safety are met, resulting in efficient delivery of a range of events and productions for the Cairns community.
While gaining practical experience, you will work towards completing a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services, setting you up with a strong foundation for a future career in technical production.
What We Are Looking For:
* Secondary School Grade 12 or equivalent, or experience deemed as equivalent.
* Experience in the use of computer applications and the ability to apply computer concepts.
* Some experience or knowledge of technical backstage work.
* Literacy, numeracy skills of a level suitable to complete a certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services.
* Sound verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a broad range of clients, colleagues and contractors of different cultural backgrounds.
* A demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service.
* A desire and enthusiasm for a technical career in the performing arts.
