About the role

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking a Senior Field Officer to join the Roads Team based in Jindabyne, working within the iconic Kosciuszko National Park.

This role contributes to the maintenance and upgrading of a diverse network of roads and trails across the park, while supporting the conservation of natural values, native flora and fauna, and Aboriginal cultural heritage. The position plays a key role in maintaining safe access across a challenging alpine environment year-round.

As a Senior Field Officer, you will provide experienced on ground support and operational leadership to assist with the delivery of roads maintenance and upgrade works. This includes coordinating field activities, providing task-based guidance as required, and working closely with the Senior Field Supervisor, team members, and contractors to ensure works are carried out safely and effectively.

The role involves working with external contractors, including supporting winter snow clearing operations to maintain access across alpine roads in demanding conditions. Outside the winter season, the position also contributes to broader park operations, including assisting with fire management activities such as hazard reduction burns and wildfire response.

This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic operational environment while contributing to the management and protection of one of Australia's most significant alpine national parks.
