About the Role
Operating within Student Welfare, the Counsellor provides a safe, supportive environment for ACU students to discuss concerns, develop resilience, and achieve goals. The Counsellor is a fully qualified and accredited Psychologist, Social Worker, or Counsellor, and delivers free, confidential and accessible counselling, resources and referrals to students experiencing personal, mental health or general wellbeing concerns. The role includes preventive initiatives and activities across the Student Welfare function nationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individual and group counselling sessions to university students.
* Deliver free, confidential and accessible counselling, resources and referrals.
* Contribute to prevention initiatives and activities across Student Welfare nationally.
* Work closely with the Counselling team, university stakeholders and external providers.
Qualifications
* Accredited Psychologist (AHPRA), Social Worker (AASW) or Counsellor (PACFA Clinical/ACA Level 3).
* Experienced in student mental health matters.
* Valid working with Children or Vulnerable People check (ACT only).
* Australian work rights.
