The Waterways project officer role offers an opportunity to enhance the health of waterways in Victoria. Working within the Waterway Policy and Programs branch, you will be part of a flexible and supportive team. Your project management and stakeholder engagement skills will be essential in this role.The Role Will Focus OnDelivering priority projects aligned with the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy and the Central and Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy.Responding to emerging issues and maintaining good governance to support regional waterway management.Achieving positive environmental outcomes and climate change adaptation for waterways in Victoria.This position involves delivering projects that improve the regional waterway management framework, focusing on environmental watering, fish passage infrastructure, water quality, riparian management, and stakeholder engagement.Specialist/Technical Expertise/QualificationsHighly desirable: Qualification in environmental science, natural resource management, or relevant field.Highly desirable: Knowledge and experience in waterway and catchment management programs, stakeholder engagement, and regional environmental initiatives.This is an ongoing position based at 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, with hybrid work options.
