**Role Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and professional **Dental Assistant** to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient dental practice by supporting Dental Practitioners, in delivering superior patient care.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and organizing materials for dental procedures.
- Welcoming and preparing patients for dental examinations, ensuring a comfortable and informed experience.
- Assisting practitioners during procedures by passing instruments, handling suction devices, and managing other tools.
- Taking and processing dental X-rays and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Educating patients on oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintaining and managing dental inventory, ensuring the timely availability of required supplies.
- Performing regular maintenance checks on dental equipment and ensuring proper functionality.
- Adhering to strict infection control standards to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Acting as a receptionist when necessary: scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries.
**Skills and Qualifications**
**Essential Qualifications**:
- AQF Certificate II or III in Dental Assisting (ANZSCO Skill Level 4) or equivalent.
- A minimum of **2 years of full-time experience** as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting.
**Preferred Experience and Skills**:
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software for records and billing.
- Commitment to maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
**Additional Certifications (preferred)**:
- Radiation Safety Certificate for X-ray handling.
- Infection Control Certification.
- First Aid Certification.
