Mental Health Specialist
The Whole-School Approach to mental health and wellbeing is a key aspect of our initiative. The goal is to provide a supportive environment for students, staff, and families.
We are seeking a part-time Mental Health Leader who will work collaboratively with the school leadership and wellbeing team. This role involves implementing a whole-school approach, building capability with regard to mental health and wellbeing, providing support to staff, and establishing clear pathways for referral.
The successful candidate will promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, supporting teachers and staff to expand their capacity to embed evidence-based strategies and programs. They will also work closely with the school community to inform, influence, and provide input into teaching and learning relating to mental health and wellbeing.
This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and parents. A high level of emotional intelligence and empathy is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing
* Provide training and support to staff on mental health and wellbeing
* Establish clear pathways for referral and support
* Collaborate with the school leadership and wellbeing team to inform teaching and learning
Requirements:
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, education)
* Experience working in a school setting or related field
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
