We are on the lookout for a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team based at our Mackay Office. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will have the capability to handle multiple situations simultaneously and a demonstrated record of positively influencing key stakeholders to achieve HSE objectives.
Key tasks:
* Provide professional health and safety advice, support and coaching to leaders and workers at all levels
* Develop and maintain H&S Management Plans for each business unit and facility
* Maintain environment, risk and hazard registers, ensuring identified risks are communicated and appropriate controls are in place
* Promote consistent risk management practices, including the use of Take 5's and JSA's
* Manage incident, hazard and near-miss reporting, ensuring thorough investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed and monitored
* Support on site injury management and return to work requirements
* Conduct site visits, inspections and audits to assess risk management practices, behaviours, and compliance
* Compiling and analysing safety data for monthly reports
* Ensure compliance with all applicable WHS/OSH legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards
* Managing external or internal audits
* The successful candidate will have a natural ability and willingness to engage with the workforce through regular safety interactions and field leadership activities
Key capability requirements:
* Combination of relevant experience and education/training
* Proven track record in developing ,implementing and monitoring H&S Management Plans
* Demonstrated sound knowledge of Australian legislation relating to Occupational Health & Safety and subsidiary documents such as standards and Codes of Practice.
* Previous experience in a similar position (Workshop and/or Mining)
* Competence in using modern business technology (Microsoft, MyOsh).
* Previous experience managing ISO Accreditation is desirable not essential
