Job Description

As a professional financial administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of our firm's financial records. Your expertise in bookkeeping, payroll management, and accounting principles will ensure seamless financial operations, supporting our growth and success.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. With a keen eye for financial data, you will prepare and maintain monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Managing payroll for the firm's staff, ensuring compliance with relevant awards and regulations.
* Assisting with employee records and HR administration tasks related to payroll, including drafting contracts.
* Ensuring trust account compliance and preparing necessary reports.
* Overseeing superannuation contributions and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
* Managing accounts payable, reviewing and processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
* Preparing and lodging BAS (Business Activity Statements) and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting in accordance with ATO requirements.


Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper with:

* Proven experience in bookkeeping, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
* Strong knowledge of Queensland Law Society trust account regulations and requirements.
* Proficiency with accounting software, including Xero and Microsoft Excel.
* A high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
* Strong understanding of payroll processes, superannuation, BAS, and STP reporting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping, such as a Certificate IV in Accounting.
