We're Hiring: Retail Manager — Why Dive & Surf
Location: Whyalla, South Australia
Role: Full-time (38 hrs/week)

Why Dive & Surf is transforming a long-standing dive shop into a fresh, coastal retail hub for surf, dive and ocean-lifestyle gear. We've completed an eco-conscious refit, blending two decades of dive heritage with a modern, sustainable approach.
The Role
Lead day-to-day store operations, inspire the team, and help shape the next stage of our growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional customer service—friendly, knowledgeable and ocean-lifestyle focused
* Open and close the store, managing daily operations confidently
* Work independently and make informed decisions—you'll be trusted to lead
* Merchandise and maintain fresh, inspiring displays for surf and dive gear
* Unpack, manage and control stock, including larger items like boards and dive gear
* Contribute ideas to grow the business and improve customer experience
* (Optional) Use your creative eye to help produce social media content—photos, reels, unboxings, surf snaps or dive adventures
About You
* A self-starter who works well solo but thrives in a team
* Great with people and passionate about helping customers find the gear they love
* Previous retail experience preferred, but not essential
* Knowledge of the surf or dive industry is a bonus
* Confident decision-maker with strong communication skills
* Flexible to work across a Monday–Saturday roster
* Passionate about the ocean, the environment and coastal lifestyles
