We are seeking a skilled Supervisor to deliver the first stage of a multi-decade pipeline of work to renew and expand Australian infrastructure in Antarctica. Initial work includes an expedition for the Antarctic summer season for 2026/2027, building new water production facilities, a utility building with power and workshop facilities, and major structural works.

Key Responsibilities And Duties


Delivery of Daily Works

* Coordinate and execute daily tasks assigned by the Program and Construction Manager.
* Plan work sequences to meet program deadlines, considering weather, equipment availability, and workforce capacity.


Leadership & Team Coordination

* Lead a multidisciplinary trade team to achieve safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes.
* Foster a respectful, productive team culture in line with organisational values.


Work Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

* Ensure all activities comply with WHS and environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
* Demonstrate and promote strong safety leadership across all operations.


Progress Monitoring & Reporting

* Track progress against the summer works program.
* Prepare and deliver detailed status reports to the Program and Construction Manager.


Technical & Quality Oversight

* Maintain quality control across all construction activities.
* Ensure works comply with relevant standards, specifications, and best‑practice methods.


Operational Leadership

* Direct and support the daily activities of a multidisciplinary trade team.
* Allocate tasks, set priorities, and adjust work plans in response to changing conditions.


Work Coordination

* Coordinate access to tools, equipment, and materials required for daily operations.
* Communicate operational requirements clearly to all team members.


Reporting & Documentation

* Monitor and document progress against schedules.
* Submit reports detailing risks, delays, issues, and corrective actions.


Safety Leadership

* Promote safe work practices and ensure all WHS obligations are met.
* Identify hazards, implement controls, and lead incident response and reporting.
* Contribute to safety investigations where required.


Quality & Technical Delivery

* Oversee technical aspects of construction works, ensuring compliance with drawings, standards, and specifications.
* Conduct quality checks and elevate non‑conformance issues appropriately.


Stakeholder Communication

* Deliver clear communication with the Program and Construction Manager, stakeholders, and your team.
* Provide direction, feedback, and updates to maintain aligned expectations.


Capability & Development

* Maintain required competencies, including G1, G8, and G9.
* Mentor team members to support skill development and safe work practices.

Requirements

* Successful completion of the selection process: Includes written application, interviews, technical assessments, medical and psychological screening, reference checks and national police check.
* Valid Passport - The expiry date of the passport (and any relevant visa) must be at least 6 months beyond the planned end date of the expedition
* Living Conditions: While Davis Station offers private bedrooms and comfortable facilities, candidates must be prepared to share and contribute to communal living spaces (including dining and bathrooms), cleaning and other responsibilities. Personal freedoms of movement may also be limited at times due to physical isolation and occasional harsh weather.
* Support Provided: Pre-departure training, resilience and mental health preparation, and ongoing support for expeditioners and their families throughout deployment
* HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid (valid for 3 years)
* HLTAID010 - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (valid for 3 years)
* HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (valid for 1 year)
