The Opportunity
Medicines Australia is looking for an Ethics and Compliance Officer to join their team in a permanent capacity.
The role is flexible in being either full-time or part-time (minimum 27 hours per week).
You'll join a small team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Ethics and Compliance, that is responsible for administering the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct. This is a principles-based code that sets the standard for ethical and professional conduct in the pharmaceutical industry.
This is not strictly a black and white compliance role. Rather, it is an opportunity to:
* Uplift knowledge and capability amongst members, supporting ethics and best practice in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Engage with member organisations through education, training and practical advice.
* Administer proactive and reactive compliance activities, ensuring member companies report transparently and delivering the framework for quality assurance reviews.
* Report to a Manager with strong subject matter expertise who is focused on your professional growth and skills development

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Contribute to the delivery of member education through webinars, training and presentations, including developing content and guidance materials.
* Provide advice to members and stakeholders regarding Code-related enquiries, translating principles into practical application.
* Keep industry informed about the processes, work and outcomes of the monitoring and complaints functions of the Code, through phone, email and online meetings.
* Ensure member's transparency reporting requirements are submitted in line with the Code, including review of reports, publishing and data analysis.
* Work across the wider team to identify and pursue opportunities for members to engage with the Code, including a network of compliance-focused professionals from member companies.
* Provide secretariat support to Committees and Working Groups such as the Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee.
The Ideal Person
You bring a minimum of 3 years' experience in compliance, ethics, governance, assurance, quality management or regulation.
Creative, open-minded, and solutions-focused, you bring more than just administrative capability – you thrive on finding practical, effective ways to uphold standards and deliver outcomes.
You will also bring:
* A strong focus on client service delivery with experience working with members or clients, proactively adding value, engaging them in the process and providing practical and trusted advice.
* High level of attention to detail and project management capability, with the ability to take ownership of projects and manage planning and execution effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, educate, and influence a diverse membership base and stakeholders.
* A clear and concise writing style, capable of conveying information in a compelling and understandable way.
* Ability to apply sound ethical reasoning, make fair and defensible decisions in complex or ambiguous situations, and provide advice guided by principles rather than rigid rules.
Although not an essential requirement, a tertiary qualification in a related discipline (such as compliance monitoring, education, behavioural change, regulation, legal) will be beneficial.
Salary / Rate
* $90k - $110k + 12% super.
* Permanent position.
* Flexibility in being engaged in either a full-time or part-time capacity (minimum 27 hours per week).
* Office located in Deakin, Canberra.
