Role Description
This is a full-time (38hrs), on-site role located in Melbourne, VIC for a Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager will oversee procurement activities, develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost-effective purchasing strategies. Additional responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, evaluating supplier performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor negotiations
* A minimum of 1 years' experience within a medical device company
* Experience in inventory management and demand forecasting
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Proficiency in record-keeping, data analysis, and use of relevant purchasing and logistics software
* Effective communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Prior experience in procurement within the medical or healthcare industry is required
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and monitor purchasing, storage, and distribution strategies, policies, and plans
* Prepare and execute supply chain plans to maintain optimal stock levels while minimising costs
* Negotiate contracts and build strong relationships with suppliers to meet quality, price, and delivery expectations
* Liaise with internal departments and external customers to coordinate requirements for outbound goods and shipping
* Monitor and improve inventory control systems to align with company supply requirements and stock level goals
* Oversee and maintain accurate records of purchasing, inventory, and distribution transactions
* Identify and manage reliable vendors for tooling, painting, printing, and packaging
* Manage and lead the team, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance to ensure operational excellence
* Ensure timely and efficient provision of products and services that meet customer and client demands
* Develop and deliver procurement strategies across the business
* Data analysis, supplier sourcing, contract negotiations and management
* Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
* Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and risk frameworks
* Build strong relationships internally and externally
