The Team

Join a dynamic, forward-thinking library team at the heart of the State's major health and medical organisation. Your expertise will directly support top-class patient care, research, and education. As a senior member of staff, you’ll work alongside a highly skilled, collaborative, and friendly team who are passionate about delivering high-quality information services to clinicians, researchers, and students. You’ll enjoy a varied and stimulating role, combining hands-on literature searching, evidence synthesis, and resource management with opportunities to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and drive innovation in health information services.

The Role

* Manage, develop and administer specialised library and information services to a statewide clientele
* Undertake complex research and provide professional and technical advice to client groups on library services. Coordinate client training as required
* Provide leadership and supervision to staff involved in the provision of library and information services
* Manage resources allocated to the Wingfield Library. Undertake budgeting and service evaluation
* Assist in the formulation and review of library policies and strategies to meet departmental objectives and client needs
* Liaise with other libraries and information services within and outside the Agency to maximise services
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
* The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time, day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 31 January 2025.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: AHP Level 4

Salary $123,717 - 134,336 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

* Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement

*Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

* Degree or diploma in Librarianship or information studies from recognised institution of higher education or a post graduate diploma in librarianship or information studies. Eligibility for admission to Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.

* Tasmanian Driving Licence

Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check
