Here at Chrysos we combine science and software to create technology solutions that are changing the global mining industry; both from a productivity and environmental impact perspective.
Just like atoms and machines, we believe that everyone is different and how individuals come together is what makes us successful. Headquartered in Adelaide and with team members based in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, Canada, Chile and North America, Chrysos Corporation's diverse team of scientists, engineers and industry specialists are coming together to build technologies to provide rapid, accurate and safe ore analysis for the global mining industry.
The company's flagship technology, PhotonAssayTM, steps around centuries‐old chemistry‐based assay methods to deliver true 'atom‐counting' analysis for the measurement of gold and other high‐value metals. With successful global installations, Chrysos is taking PhotonAssayTM to customers around the world – Chrysos could take you to places that you might not have even imagined yet. There's opportunity around every corner and the support to help you achieve your goals.
About The Role
The Quality Engineer supports Chrysos Corporation by ensuring that PhotonAssayTM assemblies, components, and production processes meet required quality standards. The role maintains and improves the Quality Management System (QMS), manages non‐conformances (NCRs), supports document control processes, and contributes to robust manufacturing and testing practices deployment sites.
What You Will Do
* Lead the development and maintenance of Quality Control Plans (QCPs) for Chrysos products, ensuring alignment between design intent, manufacturing capability, testing requirements, and supplier inputs.
* Conduct FMEA assessments across product design, production processes, and supplier processes to identify potential failure modes, assign risk priorities, and drive preventive actions.
* Develop product and process validation procedures, ensuring verification methods, acceptance criteria, and documentation meet engineering and quality requirements.
* Define, document, and maintain Critical‐to‐Quality (CTQ) attributes and facilitate agreement of these with Development, Engineering, and Production teams.
* Create and maintain inspection plans, sampling plans, test methods, measurement techniques, and criteria for products and components.
* Contribute to supplier quality processes including supplier FMEA inputs, incoming inspection requirements, supplier NCRs, and material verification standards.
* Ensure documentation is controlled, current, and aligned within the QMS and document control system.
* Manage the end‐to‐end NCR process, ensuring investigations link back to design risks, process controls, CTQs, and QCP updates as required.
* Lead structured root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented and validated.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on key indicators of product quality, inspection performance, and QCP effectiveness.
* Support internal and external audits by demonstrating alignment with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.
* Work closely with Development and Engineering teams to integrate quality considerations early in the design cycle, ensuring CTQs, inspection plans, validation needs, and control points are clearly defined and agreed.
* Collaborate with Production and Supply Chain to ensure QCPs and inspection plans are practical, accurate, and aligned with manufacturing and supplier capabilities.
* Facilitate cross‐functional FMEA sessions involving design, production, and supplier stakeholders to ensure risks are understood and mitigation actions are implemented.
* Provide expert guidance on inspection methods, measurement systems, validation techniques, and quality engineering tools.
* Support assembly and testing teams with technical quality input, troubleshooting, and resolution of product or process deviations.
* Promote standardised work practices, error‐proofing (poka‐yoke), and process improvements to enhance product reliability and reduce quality variations.
* Maintain strong stakeholder communication, ensuring clear alignment across teams on CTQs, quality risks, required controls, and improvement actions.
Who you are
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* 2–5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering or technical quality role within manufacturing, assembly, testing, or technical services environments.
* Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, engineering drawings, and testing practices.
* Experience with FMEA, SPC, or reliability engineering.
* Experience conducting NCR and CAPA processes, including structured root cause analysis.
* Experience with inspection tools (multimeter, torque tools, calipers, gauges).
* Knowledge of QMS frameworks and ISO 9001 requirements.
* Experience with document control, controlled records, and configuration management principles.
* Experience working with ERP and online QMS systems.
* Experience in electromechanical equipment compliance (UL, CE, IEC, AS/NZS).
* Exposure to high‐level assembly processes and functional/electrical test environments.
