About the role
With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enhancing health and wellness while developing your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.
As a Principal Policy and Project Officer in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Health System Strategy and Patient Experience, you'll lead strategic and operational projects that drive NSW Health priorities and improve patient experience across the system.
You'll take complex reform opportunities from concept to delivery, building business cases, establishing governance, managing reporting, and tracking outcomes. Working closely with senior executives and diverse partners across the NSW health system, central agencies and local communities, you'll be the go-to point for cross-system coordination. You'll provide high-level, evidence-based advice on emerging issues, translating research and insights into practical recommendations for decision makers.

What you'll be doing
* Drive a strategic project from scoping to delivery, including planning, risk/issue management and benefits tracking.
* Develop project documentation, and establish fit-for-purpose governance, milestones and reporting.
* Prepare clear, evidence-based advice, briefings and submissions for the Deputy Secretary and senior executives on current and emerging policy issues.
* Engage and coordinate with stakeholders across NSW Health, central agencies, Ministers' offices and partners to progress priorities and resolve cross-division matters.
* Provide executive support to key committees and taskforces, including agenda planning, papers, minutes and action tracking.

About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant, equivalent experience working in a complex policy and program management environment in a public health setting.
* Significant knowledge and understanding of NSW Government and NSW Health policy, strategy, and processes.
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating a project or policy across multiple government agencies and local community groups with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience in areas relevant to the Health System Strategy and Patient Experience Division that comprises Government Relations, Social Policy and Health Equity, Healthy Families and Communities, Strategic Planning Economics and Experience and Mental Health.
* The ability to work across multiple teams and operate with significant autonomy and self-direction.
