Your new company
Join a large Federal Government department responsible for delivering nationally significant reforms that directly impact Australians and their access to essential services. The organisation operates at scale, works closely with central agencies, and places a strong emphasis on evidence-based decision-making and sound financial governance.
Your new role
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping funding and budget decisions for a nationally significant program. Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will:
* Take end-to-end ownership of a complex demand and cost model that underpins budget strategy, forecasting and policy decisions.
* Develop detailed costings and projections to support New Policy Proposals, budget bids and funding submissions.
* Maintain, update and refine an Excel-based financial model, ensuring assumptions, drivers and outputs remain robust and transparent.
* Analyse expenditure trends and forecast future demand, monitoring actuals against projections to inform funding adjustments.
* Translate complex financial and modelling information into clear, well-structured advice for executives and central agencies
* Partner with internal stakeholders to align funding with program demand and operational delivery
* Drive continuous improvement by enhancing models, processes, documentation and standard operating procedures
What you'll need to succeed
You're a confident finance professional who enjoys working with complexity and ambiguity. You'll bring:
* Strong experience in financial modelling, costings, forecasting or demand analysis
* A solid understanding of the Federal Budget cycle and related financial processes
* Advanced Excel capability and experience with financial management systems
* The ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, well-written advice
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Experience in government, public sector consulting, or large complex organisations will be highly regarded.
