Primary objective
Provide advice and information to management, other government agencies, developers and the public regarding the sale
or lease of Crown land in the northern region of the Northern Territory. Assist and support the efficient delivery of Crown
land transaction projects.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist with the efficient delivery of Crown land transaction projects in accordance with the Crown Lands Act 1992, Land
Acquisitions Act 1978 and Special Purposes Leases Act 1953.
2. Provide advice and information to management, other government agencies and the public on matters relevant to the
sale or lease of Crown land.
3. Prepare Land Titles Office, contractual and other project documentation to facilitate the sale or lease of Crown land.
4. Monitor and provide advice on compliance with Crown leases and development agreements.
5. Develop and maintain project management databases relating to Crown land transactions projects. Maintain ILIS records
relating to Crown leases.
6. Prepare Chief Executive, Ministerial correspondence, and briefings in relation to Crown land transactions.
7. Ensure a high level of client focus and client satisfaction.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to provide advice and information to management, other government agencies and the public,
including the ability to interpret, analyse and provide advice on policy and legislation.
2. Sound project management and commercial skills to assist with delivery of complex projects.
3. High standards of probity, accountability, and confidentiality.
4. Sound communication skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members, government
agencies, developers, and external service providers and to prepare accurate reports and briefings on technical matters
and complex issues.
1. Good organisation and time management skills including the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work effectively with
minimal supervision in a team environment.
1. Sound knowledge of PC based office systems as well as knowledge of associated office and land administration
(Integrated Land Information System or similar) software.
1. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
2. An understanding of work, health, and safety matters as they apply to a workplace or the ability to acquire knowledge
within a short period.
Desirable
1. Good understanding of sale or lease of Crown land and the Crown Lands Act 1992, Land Acquisitions Act 1978 and Special
Purposes Leases Act 1953.
2. Qualifications or equivalent knowledge and experience in conveyancing.
