RAAFA has an amazing opportunity for a Dietitian, a completely new role within our organisation, to work within our well-established Quality and Clinical Governance Team on a full-time basis. Together this team will provide overall leadership and management to RAAFA’s 5 Residential Aged Care Facilities and RAAFA HomeCare, ensuring the business exceeds compliance requirements.
We are seeking someone who is prepared to go above and beyond, being accountable for monitoring and supporting our staff to deliver a person-centred nutrition and hydration program across our Residential Aged Care sites. You will have the benefit of working alongside teams who are skilled leaders whilst being supported by the wider RAAFA Clinical Quality Governance Framework.
This is a full-time, permanent role, that reports to the Quality and Clinical Governance Manager.

This Role Will See You
* Deliver thorough assessments and evidence-based nutritional treatments to enhance resident health and well-being through proactive, individualised nutrition care.
* Evaluate residents’ physical, psychological, functional, behavioural and environmental needs to inform tailored dietary interventions.
* Maintain high standards of dietetic practice throughout residential admission, assessment, care planning, and ongoing treatment.
* In collaboration with RAAFA’s hospitality team, develop and modify menus to meet residents’ nutritional needs and preferences.
* Work with teams across sites to embed “Standard 6: Food & Nutrition” into or service delivery.
* Provide education, counselling and support to residents and their families to promote nutritional well-being.
* Review and support training across numerous subjects, including dysphagia management, hydration, malnutrition prevention and more to residential care staff.
* Lead or contribute to clinical incident reviews and investigations involving nutritional care.
* Provide quality reports on nutrition indicators and risk mitigation strategies to the General Manager - Residential Care and Quality & Clinical Governance Manager with analysis and recommendations.
* Engage with key stakeholders including RAAFA personnel, older persons and their representatives.
* Support mealtime management practices that promote dignity, independence, and enjoyment
About You
* Relevant Tertiary Qualification and an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with a current membership of Dietitians Australia.
* Sound clinical knowledge and experience working within the health care sector – preferably with significant aged care experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of Aged Care Standards to ensure compliance and accreditation.
* The ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team in order to contribute to Residential Care and organisational objectives.
* Excellent skills in assessment, evaluation and care plan development.
* Demonstrated knowledge of person-centred care.
* Understanding of dementia-inclusive mealtime practices.
* Demonstrated computer proficiency and experience in using an electronic care management system, preferably iCare and/or AlayaCare and the Microsoft Windows suite of tools including Excel.
* Experience in menu development, malnutrition prevention and food service collaboration.
* Working knowledge of the Australian health system and the issues faced by the community and aged care sectors.
* Current driver's license and willingness to travel to RAAFA’s various locations.
