We are pleased to partner with a leading organisation in the energy sector, seeking an Industrial HSE Advisor to join their Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to renewable energy projects and broader operations, based in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.
Your new role
As the Industrial HSE Advisor, you will report to the HSE Manager and provide technical HSE advice and support to the Growth & Future Energy division, ensuring the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.You will:
- Deliver HSE planning, support and advice in line with legislation, strategic objectives, policies and best practice standards.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate HSE learning and improvement.
- Undertake project HSE audits and investigations, providing mentoring and support to Project Managers.
- Develop HSE risk management processes and support their implementation and maintenance.
- Ensure effective HSE processes are in place to facilitate escalation and flow of HSE information, investigations, learnings, actions and audits.
- Prepare and deliver professional reports and presentations to both internal and external audiences.
- Develop HSE management plans, training and information material for renewable energy projects.
- Participate in and lead tender evaluations, technical reviews and provide feedback to consultancies regarding HSE.
- Demonstrate and foster the organisation’s values, including care, adaptability and delivery.
- Travel to operational sites as required to fulfil the role’s outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as health and safety, environment, engineering or science (desirable)
- Qualifications in health, safety, environment or quality auditing, investigation training, and certification as an OHS or Environmental Qualified.
- At least 3 years’ experience in HSE, preferably within heavy industry, resources, renewables or energy sectors.
- Experience in field-based HSE on wind farm, solar, or hybrid power operations.
- Experience in performing HSE audits against regulatory and ISO standards.
- Ability to identify and manage risks and hazards for large renewable energy projects from start-up through to operations.
- Ability to foster change management and implement improvements to systems and work practices.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering quality work within agreed time frames.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including consultation, networking and conflict resolution.
