Executive Director, Delivery Social and Community

* Temporary Band 2 Senior Executive role based in Martin Place, Sydney, through to 8 January 2027, with potential for future temporary or ongoing opportunities with the Premier's Department.
About the Role
As the Executive Director, Social and Community you will provide strategic, statewide leadership to drive the delivery of the NSW Government's social and community priorities. You will lead complex, multi-agency initiatives and reforms by influencing policy implementation and ensuring alignment to whole-of-government objectives, including Cabinet priorities and local, regional and statewide delivery outcomes.
You will play a critical role in translating community insights into impactful government action, ensuring services are coordinated, responsive and deliver tangible outcomes for communities. Working across agencies, you will drive whole-of-government coordination and reform, leveraging deep expertise in social and community services and policy to deliver sustainable and system-wide improvements.
Join our Social & Community branch within the Delivery and Engagement group in the Premier's Department, working at the heart of government to coordinate and deliver key priorities that shape responses to emerging issues, strengthening social cohesion and drive service improvements across justice, education, community services and health.

About You:
* Enterprise Leadership & Delivery: You bring extensive senior executive experience leading large-scale, complex reform and service delivery initiatives, with a strong track record of delivering measurable outcomes aligned to government priorities.
* Strategic Policy & Reform Expertise: You have extensive experience across social and community programs, policy or service delivery, with the ability to drive system-wide reform. You apply sound judgement in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, responding to emerging issues and delivering coordinated, high-impact solutions.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: You build and sustain trusted relationships across government, industry and community sectors, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities to enable integrated, whole-of-government delivery.
* Leadership: You are an accomplished people leader, with experience in building and leading high-performing, geographically dispersed teams, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive and outcomes-focused culture.
* Machinery of Government: You have a proven ability to lead and align complex, multi-agency initiatives, underpinned by strong government acumen and a deep understanding of Cabinet and legislative processes.
