An outstanding senior leadership opportunity has arisen with one of Tasmania’s most respected family‑owned seafood and hospitality businesses.
Mures is a fully vertically integrated fishing and hospitality group comprising commercial fishing, two award‑winning a la carte restaurants, a large Seafood bistro, Café and Fishmongers, a seafood processing facility with its own wholesale and retail outlets, and 2 fishing vessel’s Diana and Selkie.
Reporting to the Directors, this is a pivotal leadership role focused on financial governance, risk management, commercial insight and long‑term business sustainability.
Key Focus Areas
Lead the development and maintenance of robust, transparent and compliant financial systems and processes that continually improve data integrity.
Deliver timely, accurate and insightful reporting that directly supports operational and strategic decision‑making.
Drive disciplined budgeting and forecasting processes that allow for seasonal volatility.
Maintain rigorous cash‑flow oversight to protect the business through peaks, troughs and unplanned events.
Operational Leadership
Lead and develop a small and experienced finance and administration team while remaining willing to be hands‑on when required.
Ensure fair workload distribution and foster a positive and engaged team environment.
Investment and Growth
Proactively identify and through working with key stakeholders secure grants, partnerships and commercial opportunities.
Build and manage a prioritised investment and grant pipeline with clear ROI, payback and risk frameworks.
Work with the Directors and leadership team to proactively enhance profitability, efficiency and long‑term sustainability.
What You Bring
Strong background in commercial analysis, FP&A, business partnering or finance management.
Deep understanding of Sales, Labour, GP and venue‑level P&Ls.
Highly proficient with accounting, POS, stock & labour platforms (Xero, SwiftPOS, Tanda, Unleashed, etc.)
Experience in optimisation and integration of financial and reporting systems is advantageous.
Ability to turn complex data into clear operational insights and actions.
Hands‑on, collaborative style — you don’t sit back and “report”, you enjoy getting into the business.
CPA/CA qualification ideal but not essential for the right candidate.
