About This Role
Our Youth Justice Precinct at Parkville offers a daily environment focused on prevention, diversion, and early intervention, aiming to reduce youth crime through compassionate approaches.
As a key member of Custodial Operations, you will provide high-quality administrative support, maintain compliance documentation, conduct risk assessments, supervise young people, and ensure a safe custodial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and secure accommodation-based setting through compliance assistance and documentation.
Enter and compile accurate information into client databases and registers, including incident and handover reports.
Provide direct care, supervision, safety, and support for young people, modeling appropriate behaviours.
Conduct searches, security checks, monitor alarms, and apply physical restraints as required.
Collaborate with a team to offer support, advice and conflict resolution assistance to young people, stakeholders, families and community members.
Participate in an ongoing full-time position based at Parkville with flexible work across other custodial precincts when operationally required.
Qualifications and Skills
Prior experience with systems or database maintenance in a regulated environment is desirable.
Strong competency in administrative and data-entry skills, Microsoft Office Suite, departmental databases and hard copy records.
Current Victorian driver's licence is desirable.
Obtain a Statement of Attainment for First Aid (HTLAID011) prior to commencement.
Obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and maintain it for the duration of employment.
