Our client, a respected and established ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon, is actively seeking to appoint a Medical Receptionist to join their practice. Based at The Wesley Hospital, our client supports a broad demographic of patients as well as working closely with the Queensland Children's Hospital.
As the Medical Receptionist in this practice, you will work closely with the Doctor and Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of the front desk. The position is available on a permanent, part time basis working Monday, Tuesday and every 2nd Friday. The practice is flexible to offer every Friday for the right candidate.
Key duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Welcoming patients into the practice
* Preparation of patient clinics using Genie software (managing new patient referrals, booking appointments, managing cancellations and rescheduling accordingly)
* Preparing patient charts prior to clinics
* Processing of patient consultation billing and receipting
* Editing, proofing and send out of letters to referring GPs and other medical professionals
* Sterilisation of instruments used during patient consultations at the end of each day
* Supporting the Doctor and Practice Manager with general administration tasks
In addition to the key duties and responsibilities, Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist within a private specialist practice setting preferred
* At least 12 months using a practice management software such as Genie and/or Gentu.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to be able to coordinate busy patient clinics on your own
* A high level of communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of people
* A positive 'can-do' attitude to all tasks
* Accurate and fast data entry skills with a high-level attention to detail
Remuneration
The hourly rate for this role is negotiable based on the candidate's experience. A full onboarding and training process will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure you are comfortable running the front desk on your own. There is a shared carpark provided also, that can be utilised when the Practice Manager is not in the practice.
