Job Title: Public Health Specialist
A key role in supporting the health of a population, leading disease control teams and guiding strategies to protect and improve public health.
Provide expertise in identifying and managing diseases, working in a multi-disciplinary environment with a focus on Indigenous health and remote service delivery.
* Manage notifications of infectious diseases rarely seen in metropolitan settings.
* Coordinate outbreak investigations and interventions.
* Collaborate with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design local programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* General and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent.
* Willingness to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.
* Based in Broome for the duration of the contract.
* C Class drivers Licence and ability to travel overnight.
* Commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
