We are an established Psychiatry Practice in Erina looking for an experience medical secretary to join our friendly team on a casual/vacation relief basis with a minimum of 15 hrs per week. Our practice specialises in private psychiatry consulting services and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment.
In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our consultants to ensure the smooth running of our practice. This practice is a fast paced and lively environment. The medical secretary role is responsible for providing high quality administrative services to support the day-to-day functioning of the practice. This position provides reception and administrative services and works collaboratively with the other members of the practice, patients and external service providers and carers to maximise care outcomes.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with:
* Previous experience in an administrative role within a medical practice, preferably in a mental healthcare setting
* Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to be approachable, helpful and respectful
* Strong attention to detail, ability to be flexible and open to learning new skills
* Excellent organisational skills including demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities in a busy office environment
* Proficient in using medical software and computer applications
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Experience with Medicare/DVA and Workers compensation/Insurance billing procedures
* Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive work environment
What you'll be doing
* Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
* Answering incoming phone calls and email correspondence and enquiries
* Scheduling and managing patient appointments
* Handling private patient accounts and Medicare/DVA claims
* Assisting with file management and data entry
* Performing general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice
* Liaising with external healthcare providers, insurers and other interested third parties
