The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial and statutory reporting across the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) operations of a global organisation.
Reporting to the ANZ Head of Finance, you will manage month-end close, statutory reporting and compliance activities, while partnering closely with both local and offshore finance teams.
You'll play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with local and US GAAP standards, and driving continuous improvement across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with FP&A and operations teams to provide analysis and insights that support business decision-making.
Support M&A activities and regional consolidated reporting requirements.
Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting in line with US reporting deadlines.
Prepare and review statutory returns including GST, FBT and income tax.
Review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments prepared by offshore teams.
Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and support internal and external audits.
Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to company accounting policies and internal controls.
Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
The Candidate
You are a CA or CPA-qualified accountant with experience in financial accounting, including exposure to public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier) and experience within a multinational environment.
You bring:
Strong technical knowledge of Australian GAAP and IFRS.
Experience using major ERP systems (Oracle preferred; SAP/JDE/Great Plains also considered).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
The ability to collaborate effectively with both local and offshore teams.
Exposure to US GAAP (advantageous).
The Organisation
You'll join a global business that values integrity, innovation and continuous improvement.
Working in a flexible and supportive environment, you'll have the autonomy to make an impact and the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals across the region.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with international exposure.
Please note that is a (~2 year) long-term contract role.
