POSITION
Full time position is available for a Cook in Cape Tribulation, QLD 4873.
SKILLS
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV and at least one year of relevant full time work experience.
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes off our breakfast and lunch menu as well as takeaway items.
Additionally the Cook will receive and check food orders, maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and monitor food quality and safety standards.
TASKS
- Preparation and cooking of breakfast and lunch menu, gourmet café and takeaway items (salads, wraps, burgers, breakfasts and light meals)
- Prepare and regulate the use of the grill, fryer and oven
- Stocktake/rotation and delivery receiving/packing
- Consistent and professional delivery of our product (quality control)
- Know and adhere to proper handling procedures for food, equipment and utensils.
- Be aware of and adhere to Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Ensure the kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition
- Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards
- Have efficient and thorough knowledge of menu items, food service system and POS operation
- Develop specials based on in season produce and waste management
- Have a good understanding of all departments within the company brand
- Use robust and effective communication methods with management and other staff
- Other tasks as directed

SALARY
$65,000 - $75,000 per annum based on experience.
