Our Client is a well-established and growing provider of distributed energy and power generation solutions across Australia and the wider region.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity is available for an experienced Leading Hand – Field Services to join their national operations team.
This position plays a key role in supervising field-based technicians while remaining technically hands-on. You will provide day-to-day coordination, on-site leadership, and technical support to ensure maintenance and service activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to contractual standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
* Supervise and support a team of field service technicians across maintenance and breakdown activities
* Coordinate daily work schedules, site activities, and resource allocation
* Provide technical guidance and fault-finding support on large reciprocating engine systems
* Maintain strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Review and submit service documentation, reports, and job completion records
* Assist with quotations for service work as required
* Monitor technician training and ensure certifications remain current
This is a field-based leadership role with travel required as part of operational support.
About You
* Minimum 5 years' experience working on large reciprocating engines or power generation equipment
* Strong experience with rotating equipment
* Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic capability
* Previous experience leading or mentoring technicians (formal or informal leadership)
* Sound administrative and computer skills (Word and Excel)
* Strong communication skills and ability to engage directly with customers
