Litter Enforcement Officer Role
This is a key position in enhancing community pride, improving amenity, and supporting strategic waste and environmental goals by enforcing legislative controls.
* Lead enforcement efforts targeting littering and illegal dumping across the municipality
* Identify incidents of dumped rubbish, collect evidence to support enforcement action, and issue infringements according to relevant legislation
* Work with internal teams and external agencies to monitor high-risk areas and protect community amenity through consistent compliance activity
About This Opportunity
To succeed in this role, you will require:
1. Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance or equivalent, or demonstrated knowledge and skills gained through on-the-job training
2. Effective communication skills, including influencing others to achieve positive outcomes
3. Ability to act independently in resolving problems, using advocacy and conflict resolution skills
4. Commitment to serving the public and ability to work as a team member
5. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including preparing documentation
6. Competency in using technology to complete regulatory tasks
7. Availability to work varied hours, regular weekend work, and overtime
8. Satisfactory Police and Working With Children checks, along with a current Victorian Drivers Licence
9. A Functional Capacity Test is required before employment can be offered
