Early Learning Victoria in Portland is opening a 57‐place Early Learning Centre in January 2026 and seeks a full‐time Chef or Cook.
Key Details
* Day shift only – Monday to Friday – no weekends.
* Purpose-built kitchen with state-of-the-art equipment.
* Permanent full-time position.
Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children, accommodating dietary and cultural requirements.
* Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment in accordance with the Food Safety Act and ELV Health, Nutrition and Food Safety Policy.
* Keep kitchen and equipment in working order.
* Order food supplies and manage stock to meet budget requirements.
* Ensure the Food Safety Program is kept up to date.
Qualifications
* Certificate in Food Handling.
* Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
* Current Working with Children's Check.
* Current certificate in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma (or willingness to obtain).
A 'can‐do' attitude, high level of customer service, and experience catering for allergies/intolerance and culturally diverse communities are essential. Experience working in an early childcare centre or aged care/health facility is preferred but not essential.
