Job Description for Library Coordinator

The Library Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and coordinating Book Fairs and Book Clubs, processing student and teacher borrowing, and disseminating library information to staff.

* Organizing and Coordinating Book Fairs and Book Clubs requires the ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
* Processing student and teacher borrowing involves managing a database of books and ensuring timely returns.
* Disseminating library information to staff is crucial for maintaining a smooth-running library environment.
* Reinforcing strict borrowing procedures for both staff and students is essential for maintaining a respectful and organized library space.
* Purchasing library resources under the direction of the Principal ensures that the library remains up-to-date and relevant.
* Maintaining attendance at Library Cluster Meetings or Diocesan Library Conferences/Video Conferences enhances professional development and networking opportunities.
* Maintaining the library as an attractive and inviting space for learners fosters a positive learning environment.
* Shelving and circulating library resources, covering books, and performing general maintenance on library resources ensures that the library remains well-organized and functional.
* Culling resources under the guidance of the Principal ensures that the library collection remains relevant and up-to-date.
* Assisting staff and students in locating library resources promotes efficiency and effectiveness in research and study.
* Creating and maintaining an inventory of technology resources enhances the library's ability to support teaching and learning.
* Organizing library working bees when needed fosters a sense of community and teamwork among library staff.
* Setting up displays in the library promotes visual appeal and engagement.


Requirements

* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Familiarity with library software and systems
* Proficiency in computer skills
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
