As a key hire, you won’t just be designing screens; you’ll be setting the tone for how design fits into the way we build product. We’re looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of shaping a design culture from the ground up, and who can balance hands-on design work with user research and strategic input.You’ll work closely with the Product Manager (your primary collaborator) and Engineering to deeply understand our users, simplify complex workflows, and bring elegant and practical solutions to life.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the end-to-end design process: from discovery and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and final implementationPlan and conduct user research activities (interviews, surveys, observation) to uncover user behaviours, pain points, and needsFacilitate and co-lead discovery and mapping workshops such as journey mapping and story mapping with product and stakeholdersDevelop and maintain a reusable design system in Figma, ensuring consistency and scalability across the productCreate interactive prototypes and design assets that can be easily handed off to engineering with clear documentationRun usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate based on qualitative and quantitative insightsInterpret event tracking data and analytics with the product team to inform design improvementsCollaborate closely with engineering to ensure design feasibility and quality implementationChampion user-centric design practices within the product development lifecycleContribute to building a shared design language and culture at RIB CXAbout YouYou have 4+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product design projects and user-centric design solutions.You’ve been the only designer or led design for a complex product and enjoy working autonomouslyYou’re equally confident in user research, UX strategy, and hands-on UI designYou’ve run or co-facilitated user research and story mapping workshopsYou are well-versed in Lean UX and Agile practicesYou’re a Figma power user with experience managing design systems and component librariesFamiliarity with Dovetail - or similar research tools - for organizing and analyzing user research data efficiently.Experience using Maze - or similar usability testing tools - for conducting usability testing and gathering user feedback on interactive prototypes.You are a strong communicator and collaborator, especially with PMs and engineersExperience in the construction or infrastructure industry is a bonus but not essentialWhy Join Us?Be the first designer and shape how design is done at RIB CXWork on real-world problems that impact how buildings and infrastructure are deliveredCollaborate closely with product and engineering, with significant influence and autonomyFlexible remote working arrangements and a collaborative, supportive team cultureRIB may require all successful applicants to undergo and pass a comprehensive background check before they start employment.
