Overview
Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences. This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026, located in Broome, Western Australia. Broome Senior High School is a high-performing public school with a broad and inclusive curriculum and strong focus on student wellbeing and community partnerships.
The HASS learning area at Broome Senior High School continues to develop a culturally responsive curriculum for Years 7 to 12.
The Role
The successful applicant will ideally teach Year 11–12 ATAR General HASS courses and have the capacity to teach Year 7–10 HASS subjects. Knowledge of the WA HASS Curriculum due for implementation in 2026 and a willingness to work collaboratively in a strong team environment are desirable. Experience teaching students with varying literacy levels, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and those with special needs is highly desirable. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practice and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is preferred but not essential.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start
