**About the role**:
The Middleware & Integration team within Infrastructure Service Delivery team is responsible for running Suncorp's Middleware & Integration platforms.
This service specialist role is focused on integration technologies, primarily IBM WebSphere Message Broker, (now known as IBM ACE), and is focused on governing IT Managed Service Providers to deliver best in class, end-to-end operations and run Middleware & Integration services, through governance, reporting and continuous service improvement initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a technical leadership role, utilising your strong middleware and message broker experience to lead innovation and automation on the platform.
**What you'll do**:
- Lead automation and innovation on the Middleware and Integration platforms
- Provide technical direction to the offshore team on the day-to-day activities of this platform; service level management and supplier governance
- Ensuring adherence to a Build to Run framework enabling a fast pace of change and transition into production.
- Ensuring adherence to Suncorp's SIAM framework to enable quality of Change, Release and Deployment.
- Knowledge management including shift left from L4-L0.
- Ensuring the availability and health of Middleware & Integration systems and services.
- Reducing technical debt to improve availability and overall costs of maintenance and Managed Service Provider contracts.
- Understand how to contribute to team, business and group priorities and drives priorities with a sense of purpose.
- Develop end-to-end monitoring, alerting and automation to enable proactive operations and self-healing capabilities, identify incidents and issues.
- Supporting the identification and remediation of complex problems.
**What you'll bring**:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infrastructure Services
- Experience with Middleware and Integration Platforms preferably IBM Integration Bus (IIB) and / or IBM Application Connector (ACE) for Enterprise including but not limited to:
- Platform administration
- Platform builds
- Support and optimisation of Platform queries
- Scripting
- An understanding of failover clustering, database mirroring, always-on availability groups
- Managing monitoring and alerting
- Licencing
- Involvement and support in major outages and critical incidents.
- Governance, influencing and communicating.
- Developing design documents and end-to-end process mapping.
- Previous experience working with off-shore teams, vendors and Managed Service Suppliers
- Understanding of API's, Mulesoft would be an advantage but not essential
