Our client requires the services of a geotechnical engineer (or having tertiary qualifications specialising in geomechanics / Engineering Geology) experienced with the Installation, Setup, Commissioning and Data collection of a series of surface-based instruments. The network is monitoring the structural basis of a significant dam.
This is a
site-based role on a 14:9 roster,
working back-to-back with another highly experienced & site-familiar geotechnical engineer.
They will be leading a growing team, so accomplished
team guidance and mentoring skills
are required. You will need to understand the reporting requirements and plan and meet workload demands through the effective structure of team workloads.
Another important skill is the liaison and interface with internal clients, so having a s
trong focus on customer service and satisfaction
is important.
We are looking for someone who is able to read and interpret the data provided, plus manage the flow on from a seismic event or a set trigger, what process should be followed, who needs to be communicated with and how the message needs to be communicated and to make evidence-based judgment calls on the safety of those working behind the safety curtian of the instrumentation network.
Equipment utilised will include a combination of Inclinometers, Piezometer, Extensometers, Load cells, Strain gauges, Survey targets, Tilt meters, Crack meters, Settlement gauges, Data loggers, Prisms, VWPs, Microseismic synthetic aperture, Ground based & Doppler radars & InSAR. Experience using Rocscience Software suite, Gem4D and Leapfrog is preferable.
Experience with the utilisation of risk assessment processes and techniques in high risk environments, such as dam wall or mining locations, is required.
