Experienced Disability Support Workers – Mental Health Support
At Seimosei Disability Services, we're more than just a provider – we're a family-run organisation built on compassion, reliability, and genuine care. Since 2018, we've proudly been supporting people with disabilities across Canberra and surrounding NSW, and our motto "A Smile That Cares" reflects the heart of everything we do.
We are now expanding our team and seeking Experienced Disability Support Workers who have strong skills in mental health, behavioural support, and supporting participants with complex needs. About the Role
As an experienced Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting participants with complex needs, including those living with mental health conditions and challenging behaviours.
You will provide personalised support that prioritises dignity, choice, and empowerment.
Key Duties
* Supporting participants with community access and activities of daily living
* Providing behaviour-aware support
* Following Support Plans and risk strategies with accuracy
* Applying de-escalation skills and supporting participants through emotional challenges
* Encouraging independent skill-building and confidence-building
* Working collaboratively with the support team.
* Completing documentation and incident reporting with detail and professionalism

Who We're Looking For
We are seeking experienced support workers who bring compassion, maturity, and confidence to complex support environments.
You will thrive in this role if you are:
* Experienced in disability, mental health, or behavioural support
* Trauma-informed and confident in applying de-escalation and responsive strategies
* Able to follow support plans, protocols, and risk strategies consistently
* Skilled in problem-solving and remaining calm in challenging situations
* Compassionate, values-driven, and committed to high-quality care
* Professional, reliable, and people-focused
Students in mental health, psychology, nursing, or social sciences with relevant hands-on experience in complex supports are encouraged to apply.
