Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our hospitality team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and upkeeping all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and service areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform general maintenance and repairs in the hotel
* Assist the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day maintenance requirements
* Ensure all areas of the hotel are in excellent working order
* Carry out maintenance requirements and follow up as scheduled by the hotel's Property Management System
* Assist in keeping up-to-date records on repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
* Conduct regular inspections of hotel equipment, machinery, and systems
* Ensure all tasks are performed with urgency and in the safest manner possible
* Assist in managing 3rd party contractors
Requirements:
* Excellent communication skills
* Comfortable in a physical role with a strong eye for detail
* Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable with a proactive approach to work
* Basic knowledge of general repair work or DIY
* Competent in basic computer programs
* Workplace Health and Safety knowledge
* Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts
