Swap peak‐hour traffic for palm trees and ocean views. Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Carpenter Leading Hand to join our Maintenance team.
This hands‐on leadership role offers genuine variety. You'll lead and support a team of trades and maintenance staff while carrying out carpentry works, repairs, and construction projects across the island. From maintaining guest accommodation and facilities to coordinating renovation works, your trade expertise and leadership will help ensure Hamilton Island continues to deliver exceptional experiences for guests and residents.

Where you'll make an impact
* Lead and support carpenters and maintenance team members across a variety of island works
* Coordinate and undertake construction, renovation and maintenance projects
* Carry out general carpentry repairs and maintenance across buildings, facilities and accommodation
* Allocate tasks, provide guidance and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
* Respond to urgent repair requests to maintain guest comfort and safety
* Ensure tools, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and secure
* Record labour hours, materials and job details accurately
* Promote a strong safety culture and participate in toolbox talks and team briefings
What we're looking for
You're an experienced carpenter who enjoys leading from the front. You take pride in delivering quality work, supporting your team, and ensuring jobs are completed safely and efficiently. You're organised, approachable and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

To be successful, you'll need
* Certificate III in Carpentry (essential)
* Demonstrated experience in a leading hand or supervisory carpentry role
* White Construction Card (essential)
* Manual driver's licence
* Ability to coordinate work and support a team in a fast‐paced environment
* Strong communication and problem‐solving skills
* Work Safely at Heights and EWP (above 11m) tickets highly regarded
* A flexible, reliable and safety‐focused approach to work
