Come and join the team at Macarthur Gardens Retirement Village, located in Campbelltown, as one of our Gardening and Maintenance Officers.
**About the role**
In this hands-on position, working as part of the team, you'll be kept busy across predominantly gardening related but there will be some general maintenance tasks to manage as well, that will support in ensuring the comfort, safety, and happiness of our village residents.
This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday, with the option of starting and finishing times, 7.00am to 3.00pm, 8.00am to 4.00pm or 9.00am to 5.00pm
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Maintain and implement scheduled grounds maintenance including pruning, hedging, weeding, propagating, fertilizing, and watering
- Minor pest control and baiting
- Maintaining lawns, hedging, shrubs, and pathways
- Mulch garden beds according to best practice as required
- Preventative maintenance
- Identifying and reporting hazards or safety issues
- Complete minor internal repairs within resident's units and around the facilities such as: minor joinery works, changing tap washers, changing light bulbs. Any specific work requirements a certified tradesperson will be arranged
- Assist with other ad hoc projects as required
**About you**:
- Relevant gardening and maintenance experience from a landscaping/gardening background or experience looking after a facility with high maintenance such as a retirement village, golf club or hotels/motels/resorts
- Ability to work well as a team or unsupervised and independently
- Reliable and personable and will make a positive difference to our residents
- Able to prioritise work schedules
- Self-motivated, show initiative, discretion, and judgement in carrying out assigned duties
- Current drivers' licence
