About the role:
The Head of Strategic Communications is a newly created role that will join Aurizn's Executive Team. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Strategic Communications to drive our reputation with both internal and external audiences and contribute to securing the growth of the business. This role will lead the design and execution of an integrated communications strategy, positioning Aurizn as a trusted partner in delivering critical capability to the Australian Defence Force and allied nations. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in corporate communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to translate complex technical programs into compelling narratives for our customers, industry, and our people. Working closely with the executive team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our story is told with clarity, credibility and impact.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term communications and marketing strategy aligned with the company's strategic objectives
* Lead integrated marketing campaigns to support product enhancements, service lines, and corporate initiatives
* Evolve and maintain the company's brand identity, ensuring relevance, consistency, and resonance with key audiences
* Oversee all external facing communications including media relations, digital communications, advertising and executive speaking engagements
* Collaborate with the CPO on activation and embedding of the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) communication and engagement plan, aligning EVP for both internal and external talent audiences with defined measures
* Guide creative direction for visual and verbal brand expressions, including design, tone of voice, and brand assets
* Collaborate with CEO, business development, executive teams and senior technical leaders to ensure alignment and message discipline in external advocacy
* Work cross functionally with EGMs, GM Infinite Studio Product, People and Talent, the ELT and Growth teams to ensure alignment of messaging and communications initiatives
About you / Qualifications:
* Minimum 8-10 years' experience in corporate communications, corporate affairs and brand leadership roles, ideally in defence, technology, consulting or relevant sectors
* Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communication strategies that drive business outcomes
* Strong leadership and influencing skills, with experience advising senior executives
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content across audiences
* Demonstrated success in brand development, marketing campaign management and media relations
* Demonstrated understanding of the Australian defence and government environment is highly desirable
* Keen interest in implementing AI into workforce practices
* An effective leadership style and demonstrated capabilities that contribute to maintaining and enhancing Aurizn's reputation
* Demonstrated behaviours and experience that support you to manage competing priorities, and thrive in an agile, fast paced national and international growth context
